Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By (the angels) sent forth with the commands of God, 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 And [by] the winds that spread [clouds] 3 And those [angels] who bring criterion 4 and by those who reveal revelations (to the prophets) 5 [promising] freedom from blame or [offering] a warning! 6 Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass. 7 So when the stars are made to lose their light, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 When the mountains are scattered (to the winds) as dust; 10 And when the messengers' time has come... 11 For what Day are these (portents) deferred? 12 For the Day of Judgement. 13 And what could make thee conceive what that Day of Distinction will be? 14 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 15 Destroyed We not the former folk, 16 Then did We follow them up with later ones. 17 That is what We shall do to those who are guilty of crime. 18 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 19 Did We not create you from a worthless water (semen, etc.)? 20 Then We placed it in a place of safety (womb), 21 until an appointed time? 22 Thus We have determined the stages of development and Our power to determine is excellent indeed. 23 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle. 25 Of the living and the dead? 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and given you fresh water to drink? 27 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 28 Proceed to that (the Day of Judgment) which you have rejected. 29 Proceed to a shadow [of smoke] having three columns 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 The fire will shoot out sparks as big as huge towers 32 sparks like to golden herds. 33 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 34 This is the Day they shall not speak, 35 Nor given leave to make excuses. 36 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 37 That will be a Day of Decision! We have brought you and the men of old together! 38 if you have a trick, try you now to trick Me!' 39 Woe on the day unto the beliers! 40
