Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 Then by oath of those that lift and carry. 3 and the severally severing 4 And then by those that instil Remembrance into the hearts. 5 To clear or to warn. 6 that which you have been promised shall be fulfilled. 7 So when the stars are made to lose their light, 8 And when the sky is split apart. 9 and when the mountains crumble into dust 10 And when the time comes for raising the little girls (buried alive) -- 11 If one asks, "To which day have such calamitous events been postponed?" 12 Upon the Day of Decision! 13 What will explain to you what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients 16 We shall then send the latter after them. 17 This is how We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 19 Did We not create you from a weak water, 20 that We laid within a sure lodging 21 For a known extent. 22 And We determined [it], and excellent [are We] to determine. 23 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle 25 for the living and the dead? 26 And placed therein high mountains and given you to drink sweet water therein? 27 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 28 Proceed now towards that which you were wont to deny as false; 29 Go to the shadow with three ramifications, 30 Neither shading nor availing against the flame. 31 which - behold! - will throw up sparks like [burning] logs, 32 As if they were yellowish [black] camels. 33 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 34 This is the day they shall not speak 35 And they will not be permitted to put forth any excuse. 36 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 37 'This is the Day of Decision; We have joined you with the ancients; 38 If now you have any strategy, use it against Me. 39 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 40
