Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the loosed ones successively 1 And those raging swiftly; 2 Then by oath of those that lift and carry. 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 And those winds that bring down the remembrance. 5 to excuse some and warn others: 6 Assuredly, what ye are promised must come to pass. 7 So when the stars are obliterated 8 And when the heaven is opened 9 and the mountains are blown away, 10 And when the time of the Noble Messengers arrives. 11 For what day has the term [of all this] been set? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what will make you comprehend what the day of decision is? 14 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 15 Did We not destroy the former generations? 16 Then did We follow them up with later ones. 17 [for] thus do We deal with such as are lost in sin. 18 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 19 Did We not create you from a liquid disdained? 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 for a term pre-ordained? 22 Thus We have determined the stages of development and Our power to determine is excellent indeed. 23 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 24 Did We not make the earth as a gathering place 25 For the living and the dead, 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and filled you with sweet water? 27 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 28 Walk on to that which you called a lie. 29 Proceed to that shadow, rising in three columns 30 Neither shady nor protecting against the blazing Fire. 31 Verily it shall cast forth sparks like unto a castle. 32 and as bright as a herd of yellow camels. 33 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 34 This is the Day they shall not speak, 35 Nor are they suffered to put forth excuses. 36 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 37 'This is the Day of Decision; We have joined you with the ancients; 38 So if you have any plot to devise against Me, then devise it. 39 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 40
