Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
I swear by the emissary winds, sent one after another (for men's benefit), 1 And those raging swiftly; 2 And by the winds that scatter clouds and rain; 3 separating one from another, 4 And those that bring down the Reminder 5 to provide excuses for some and to give warnings to others: 6 Indeed what you are promised, will surely befall. 7 Then when the stars become dim; 8 And when the heaven is opened 9 And when the mountains are blown away 10 and when the messengers are brought together at the appointed time -- 11 For what Day are these (portents) deferred? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what do you know, what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients 16 and make others settle after them in their land? 17 Thus do We deal with men of sin. 18 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 19 Did We not create you from an abject fluid? 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 Till a limit known? 22 Thus have We determined [the nature of man's creation]: and excellent indeed is Our power to determine [what is to be]! 23 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 24 Made We not the earth to be a housing 25 The living and the dead, 26 And have placed therein firm, and tall mountains; and have given you to drink sweet water? 27 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 28 (It will be said to the disbelievers): "Depart you to that which you used to deny! 29 Depart unto the shadow falling threefold, 30 (Which yet is) no relief nor shelter from the flame. 31 The fire will shoot out sparks as big as huge towers 32 So like golden camels." 33 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 34 This is the day they shall not speak 35 nor be allowed to proffer excuses! 36 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have assembled both ye and the ancients. 38 So if you have any plot to devise against Me, then devise it. 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
