In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 Which then blow violently in tempestuous Gusts, 2 and raise (clouds) and scatter them around, 3 separating one from another, 4 And then by those that instil Remembrance into the hearts. 5 to serve as an excuse or a warning. 6 Indeed, what you are promised is to occur. 7 So when the stars are made to lose their light, 8 And when the heaven is cloven asunder. 9 When the mountains are scattered (to the winds) as dust; 10 And when the messengers are brought unto their time appointed - 11 For what day is the time appointed? 12 Upon the Day of Decision! 13 And what will explain to thee what is the Day of Sorting out? 14 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients, 16 And We shall cause those of later times to follow them. 17 [for] thus do We deal with such as are lost in sin. 18 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 19 Did We not create you from a weak water, 20 Which We placed in a depository safe. 21 For a certain appointed time, 22 For We do determine (according to need); for We are the best to determine (things). 23 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 24 Did We not make the earth a receptacle, 25 for the living and for the dead? 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and filled you with sweet water? 27 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 28 Depart to that you cried was lies! 29 Go to the shadow with three ramifications, 30 which neither gives shade nor protects one from the flames. 31 "Indeed it throws about sparks (huge) as Forts, 32 "As if there were (a string of) yellow camels (marching swiftly)." 33 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 34 This is a day wherein they speak not, 35 Nor will they be given permission to present excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 37 This is the Day of Judgement; We will have assembled you and the former peoples. 38 So if you have a plan, then plan against Me. 39 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 40
