Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the (winds) sent forth in quick succession, 1 And by the winds that blow violently, 2 by the scatterers scattering 3 by (the angels) who make a clear distinction between right and wrong 4 By those who bring down the Reminder, 5 To clear or to warn. 6 Assuredly, what ye are promised must come to pass. 7 So when stars are effaced. 8 The heavens split asunder, 9 and the mountains are blown away, 10 And when the messengers' time has come... 11 To which Day has this task been deferred? 12 To the Day of Judgement. 13 What do you know what the Day of Judgement is? 14 On that day, woe will be to those who have rejected God's revelations! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier people? 16 So shall We make later generations to follow them. 17 That is what We shall do to those who are guilty of crime. 18 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 19 Did We not create you from a weak water, 20 Then We placed it in a secure resting-place, 21 for an appointed time? 22 Thus We have determined the stages of development and Our power to determine is excellent indeed. 23 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 24 Have We not made the earth (as a place) to draw together. 25 for the living and the dead? 26 And We placed high mountains as anchors in it and gave you sweet water to drink. 27 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 28 GO ON towards that [resurrection] which you were wont to call a lie! 29 "Depart ye to a Shadow (of smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 "(Which yields) no shade of coolness, and is of no use against the fierce Blaze. 31 which - behold! - will throw up sparks like [burning] logs, 32 So like golden camels." 33 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 34 This is a day wherein they speak not, 35 Nor will they be given permission to present excuses. 36 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 37 'This is the Day of Decision; We have joined you with the ancients; 38 If you are cunning, then try your cunning against Me! 39 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 40
