Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the loosed ones successively 1 And those raging swiftly; 2 And those that revive by quickening, 3 And those that distinguish distinctly, 4 Then spread abroad a Message, 5 to serve as an excuse or a warning. 6 that which you have been promised shall be fulfilled. 7 When the stars are obliterated, 8 And when the sky is split apart. 9 And when the mountains are blown away; 10 And when the messengers are brought unto their time appointed - 11 For what Day are these (portents) deferred? 12 Upon the Day of Decision! 13 And what do you know, what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 15 Destroyed We not the ancients? 16 Then did We follow them up with later ones. 17 In this wise We do with the culprits. 18 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 Which We laid up in a safe abode 21 For a certain appointed time, 22 We then calculated; so how excellently do We control! 23 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 24 Have We not made the earth a housing 25 the living and the dead? 26 and have We not set on it proud, firm mountains, and given you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 Proceed to a shadow [of smoke] having three columns 30 affording neither shade, nor protection from the flames, 31 it throws spits as (high as a huge) palace, 32 and yellow camels. 33 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 34 This is the day they shall not speak 35 nor will they be permitted to offer any excuses. 36 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 37 'This is the Day of Decision; We have joined you with the ancients; 38 and if you [think that you] have a subterfuge left, try to outwit Me!" 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40
