In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the (winds) sent forth in quick succession, 1 And those that strike violently, 2 by (the angels) spreading (the words of God) far and wide, 3 thus separating [right and wrong] with all clarity, 4 and then cast (Allah's) remembrance (in people's hearts), 5 Whether of Justification or of Warning;- 6 Surely what you are promised shall come to pass. 7 So when stars are effaced. 8 And when the sky is riven asunder, 9 when the mountains shall be scattered 10 and the appointed time to bring the Messengers together arrives, (then shall the promised event come to pass). 11 to what day shall they be deferred? 12 To the Day of Decision. 13 Would that you knew what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 15 Destroyed We not the former folk, 16 and make others settle after them in their land? 17 Thus do We deal with the sinful ones. 18 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 We then kept it in a safe place. 21 for an appointed term? 22 Then We facilitated (your birth). How well do We calculate! 23 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 24 Have We not made the earth (as a place) to draw together. 25 for the living and for the dead? 26 And made therein mountains standing firm, lofty (in stature); and provided for you water sweet (and wholesome)? 27 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 28 Proceed to that which you denied. 29 Depart into the shadow of three masses, 30 which neither gives shade nor protects one from the flames. 31 "Indeed it throws about sparks (huge) as Forts, 32 as black camels. 33 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 34 On that day they will not be able to speak, 35 neither be given leave, and excuse themselves. 36 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 37 This is the Day of Judgement. We have assembled you all together with past generations. 38 If you have any plans, use them. 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
