Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the emissary winds, (sent) one after another 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force, 2 Then by oath of those that lift and carry. 3 then winnow them thoroughly, 4 And by the angels that bring the revelations to the Messengers, 5 To complete the argument or to warn. 6 What is promised will surely come to pass. 7 So when the stars are put out, 8 And when the heaven is opened 9 And when the mountains are blown away 10 And when the messengers are brought unto their time appointed - 11 to what day shall they be delayed? 12 For the Day of Judgement. 13 And what do you know, what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier people? 16 Then We will follow them with the later ones. 17 In this wise We do with the culprits. 18 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 19 Did We not create you from a weak water, 20 Then We placed it in a secure resting-place, 21 For a known calculated term. 22 Thus have We determined [the nature of man's creation]: and excellent indeed is Our power to determine [what is to be]! 23 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 24 Have We not made the earth a container 25 for the living and the dead, 26 And We placed high mountains as anchors in it and gave you sweet water to drink. 27 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 28 Proceed to that (the Day of Judgment) which you have rejected. 29 "Depart you to a shadow (of Hell-fire smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 unshading against the blazing flame 31 Surely it sends up sparks like palaces, 32 As if they were yellowish [black] camels. 33 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 34 That will be the Day on which they will not (be able to) utter a word, 35 Nor given leave to make excuses. 36 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 37 'This is the Day of Decision; We have joined you with the ancients; 38 If you have any plans, use them. 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
