Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who are sent consecutively, 1 Which then blow violently in tempestuous Gusts, 2 by the scatterers scattering 3 separating one from another, 4 And then by those that instil Remembrance into the hearts. 5 [promising] freedom from blame or [offering] a warning! 6 that which you have been promised shall be fulfilled. 7 When the stars shall be extinguished, 8 And when the sky is split apart. 9 And when the mountains are blown away 10 And when the apostles are gathered at their appointed time 11 To which Day has this task been deferred? 12 To the Day of Decision. 13 And what do you know, what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 15 Did We not destroy [so many of] those [sinners] of olden days? 16 We shall then send the latter after them. 17 Thus do We deal with the Mujrimun (polytheists, disbelievers, sinners, criminals, etc.)! 18 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 19 Did We not create you from a worthless water (semen, etc.)? 20 and place it in a secure place 21 Till a limit known? 22 See that We had the power to do so. Great indeed is Our power to do what We will. 23 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 24 Have We not made the earth to draw together to itself, 25 The living and the dead, 26 Set We not therein soaring mountains? Sated you with sweetest water? 27 On that Day (of Judgment) woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 28 Proceed to that (the Day of Judgment) which you have rejected. 29 Proceed to a shadow rising in three columns: 30 (Which yet is) no relief nor shelter from the flame. 31 Indeed hell throws up sparks like huge castles. 32 As if they were yellowish [black] camels. 33 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 34 This is the day on which they shall not speak, 35 And permission shall not be given to them so that they should offer excuses. 36 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 37 'This is the Day of Decision; We have joined you with the ancients; 38 If now ye have any wit, outwit Me. 39 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 40
