Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By oath of those that are sent, one after the other. (The verses of the Holy Qur’an or the angels or the winds). 1 And the winds that blow violently 2 Then by oath of those that lift and carry. 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 And by the angels that bring the revelations to the Messengers, 5 to serve as an excuse or a warning. 6 Assuredly, what ye are promised must come to pass. 7 So when the stars are extinguished, 8 And when the heaven is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are carried away as dust, 10 and when the Messengers' time is set, 11 For what day is the time appointed? 12 For the Day of Sorting out. 13 And what can make you know what is the Day of Judgement? 14 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier people? 16 Thereafter We shall cause to follow them the latter ones. 17 Thus do We deal with the Mujrimun (polytheists, disbelievers, sinners, criminals, etc.)! 18 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 19 Did We not create you from a liquid disdained? 20 then placed it in a secure repository [the womb], 21 for a term pre-ordained? 22 Thus We have determined the stages of development and Our power to determine is excellent indeed. 23 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 24 Have We not made the earth a housing 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 And We placed high mountains as anchors in it and gave you sweet water to drink. 27 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 28 “Move towards what you used to deny!” 29 Proceed to a shadow [of smoke] having three columns 30 which neither gives shade nor protects one from the flames. 31 it indeed throws up sparks like castles, 32 sparks like to golden herds. 33 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not be able to speak. 35 nor will they be allowed to proffer excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 37 This is the Day of Decision; We have gathered you and all the earlier men. 38 So if you have a plan, then plan against Me. 39 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 40
