Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who are sent consecutively, 1 And those raging swiftly; 2 By the spreading winds spreading. 3 And the scattering winds scattering. 4 and then cast (Allah's) remembrance (in people's hearts), 5 excusing or warning, 6 Surely, what you are promised must come to pass. 7 Then when the stars lose their lights; 8 Heavens will rent asunder. 9 The mountains will be blown away as dust. 10 and when the Messengers' time is set, 11 For what day is the time appointed? 12 For the Day of Sorting out. 13 Would that you knew about the Day of Judgment! 14 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier peoples? 16 We shall then send the latter after them. 17 Thus do We deal with men of sin. 18 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 19 Did We not create you from a liquid disdained? 20 which We then placed in a secure repository 21 For a known calculated term. 22 So We decreed. How excellent are We as decreers! 23 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 24 Have We not made the earth to draw together to itself, 25 Of the living and the dead? 26 And made therein lofty mountains, and given you to drink of sweet water? 27 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 28 "Go to what you used to deny; 29 "Depart ye to a Shadow (of smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 Neither having the coolness of the shade nor availing against the flame. 31 Surely it sends up sparks like palaces, 32 As if they were tawny camels. 33 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 34 This is a Day they will not speak, 35 Nor will they be given permission to present excuses. 36 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 37 That is the Day of Judgment. We will bring you together with all the ancient peoples. 38 So if you have any ploy, try it against Me! 39 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 40
