Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
I CALL TO WITNESS those who are sent consecutively, 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force, 2 and by the scatterers scattering (rain) 3 And those that distinguish distinctly, 4 Then I swear by the angels who bring down the revelation, 5 By way of excuse or warning. 6 that whatever with which you have been warned will inevitably come to pass. 7 So when the stars are extinguished, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder 9 And when the mountains are made into dust and blown away. 10 and when the Messengers' time is set, 11 For what Day are these signs postponed? 12 Upon the Day of Decision! 13 And what will explain to you what is the Day of sorting out? 14 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 15 Did We not destroy [so many of] those [sinners] of olden days? 16 and then follow them with the later folk? 17 Thus do We deal with the criminals. 18 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 19 Did We not create you out of a humble fluid 20 and place it in a secure place 21 For a known period (determined by gestation)? 22 Then We facilitated (your birth). How well do We calculate! 23 Woe, on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a container 25 For the living and the dead, 26 And placed in it lofty and broad stablisers, and gave you sweet water to drink? 27 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 28 (It will be said:) "Depart ye to that which ye used to reject as false! 29 "Depart you to a shadow (of Hell-fire smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 Neither shady nor protecting against the blazing Fire. 31 it indeed throws up sparks like castles, 32 Seeming like yellow camels. 33 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 34 that Day on which they will not [be able to] utter a word, 35 Nor given leave to make excuses. 36 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 37 That is the Day of Judgment. We will bring you together with all the ancient peoples. 38 If now ye have any wit, outwit Me. 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40
