Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By (the angels) sent forth with the commands of God, 1 which then blow tempestuously 2 and raise (clouds) and scatter them around, 3 And by the Verses (of the Quran) that separate the right from the wrong. 4 and those (angels) dropping, reminding 5 To cut off all excuses or to warn; 6 Verily that which ye are promised is about to befall. 7 So when the lights of the stars are put out. 8 And when the sky is split apart. 9 when the mountains shall be scattered 10 And when the messengers' time has come... 11 If one asks, "To which day have such calamitous events been postponed?" 12 To the day of decision. 13 Would that you knew what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 15 Did We not destroy many a nation of the earlier times? 16 We will now cause the later ones to follow them: 17 That is what We shall do to those who are guilty of crime. 18 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 19 Have We not created you from a fluid (held) despicable?- 20 which We placed within a sure lodging 21 till a known term decreed? 22 So We proportion it-- how well are We at proportioning (things). 23 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 24 Did We not make the earth a storehouse? 25 Of the living and the dead? 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and filled you with sweet water? 27 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 28 (It will be said to the disbelievers): "Depart you to that which you used to deny! 29 "Depart ye to a Shadow (of smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 which neither gives shade nor protects one from the flames. 31 It will throw out sparks as logs of wood 32 As if they were Jimalatun Sufr (yellow camels or bundles of ropes)." 33 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 34 This is the Day they shall not speak, 35 nor shall they be given permission, so that they can apologize. 36 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 37 Such is the Day of Decision. We will gather you with the ancients. 38 and if you [think that you] have a subterfuge left, try to outwit Me!" 39 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 40
