Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 storming tempestuously 2 By the spreading winds spreading. 3 thus separating [right and wrong] with all clarity, 4 And then by those that instil Remembrance into the hearts. 5 to serve as an excuse or a warning. 6 Indeed what you are promised, will surely befall. 7 So when stars are effaced. 8 When the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 When the mountains are scattered (to the winds) as dust; 10 And when the apostles are gathered at their appointed time 11 to what day shall they be deferred? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what knowest thou what the Day of Decision is? 14 Woe on that day unto the beliers 15 Did We not destroy the ancients, 16 and let the latter follow them? 17 Thus do We deal with the Mujrimun (polytheists, disbelievers, sinners, criminals, etc.)! 18 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 19 Did We not create you from a liquid disdained? 20 which We placed within a sure lodging 21 For a known term? 22 So We decreed. How excellent are We as decreers! 23 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected the revelations of God! 24 Have We not made the earth (as a place) to draw together. 25 The living and the dead, 26 And made therein lofty mountains, and given you to drink of sweet water? 27 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 28 (It will be said:) "Depart ye to that which ye used to reject as false! 29 Proceed to a shadow rising in three columns: 30 unshading against the blazing flame 31 The fire will shoot out sparks as big as huge towers 32 Seeming like yellow camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 34 They will not be able to speak that day, 35 neither be given leave, and excuse themselves. 36 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have brought you and the men of old together. 38 So if you have a plan, plan against Me (now). 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
