Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I CALL TO WITNESS those who are sent consecutively, 1 Then by oath of those that push with a strong gust. 2 By the spreading winds spreading. 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 and by those who reveal revelations (to the prophets) 5 [promising] freedom from blame or [offering] a warning! 6 that which you have been promised shall be fulfilled. 7 So when the stars are extinguished, 8 and the sky is rent asunder, 9 and when the mountains are scattered like dust, 10 and when the Messengers' time is set, 11 If one asks, "To which day have such calamitous events been postponed?" 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what will make you comprehend what the day of decision is? 14 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients? 16 We shall then send the latter after them. 17 Thus do We deal with men of sin. 18 On that day, woe upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 19 Did We not create you from a humble fluid, 20 Which We placed in a depository safe. 21 Till an appointed term, 22 See that We had the power to do so. Great indeed is Our power to do what We will. 23 Woe, on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle? 25 for the living and for the dead? 26 And We placed high mountains as anchors in it and gave you sweet water to drink. 27 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 28 Walk on to that which you called a lie. 29 "Depart you to a shadow (of Hell-fire smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 which neither gives shade nor protects one from the flames. 31 Indeed, it throws sparks [as huge] as a fortress, 32 like giant fiery ropes! 33 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not speak (during some part of it), 35 Nor given leave to make excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 37 This is the Day of Judgement. We have assembled you all together with past generations. 38 So if you have a plan, then plan against Me. 39 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 40
