In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the (Winds) sent forth one after another (to man's profit); 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 And those that revive by quickening, 3 separating one from another, 4 and then giving forth a reminder, 5 To cut off all excuses or to warn; 6 Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass. 7 Then when the stars lose their lights; 8 And when the sky is split apart. 9 And when the mountains are carried away as dust, 10 And when the apostles are gathered at their appointed time 11 For what day is the time appointed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 How will you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 15 Did We not destroy many a nation of the earlier times? 16 and then follow them with the later folk? 17 Thus do We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 19 Did We not create you from a worthless water (semen, etc.)? 20 Then We lodged you in a secure place (the womb) 21 For a known term? 22 So We did measure, and We are the Best to measure (the things). 23 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 24 Did We not make the earth a receptacle, 25 Of the living and the dead? 26 And placed in it lofty and broad stablisers, and gave you sweet water to drink? 27 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 proceed towards the three-pronged shadow, 30 Neither shading nor availing against the flame. 31 Surely it sends up sparks like palaces, 32 As if they were yellowish [black] camels. 33 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 34 This is a day in which they will not be able to speak. 35 nor shall they be permitted to offer excuses. 36 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 37 This is the Day of Judgement. We have assembled you all together with past generations. 38 If you are cunning, then try your cunning against Me! 39 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 40
