Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the winds (or angels or the Messengers of Allah) sent forth one after another. 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force, 2 And by the winds that scatter clouds and rain; 3 thus separating [right and wrong] with all clarity, 4 And those winds that bring down the remembrance. 5 To complete the argument or to warn. 6 Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass. 7 So when the stars are made to lose their light, 8 Heavens will rent asunder. 9 The mountains will be blown away as dust. 10 and when the Messengers' time is set 11 For what day has the term [of all this] been set? 12 For the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false]! 13 Would that you knew what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe on that day unto the beliers 15 Did We not destroy many a nation of the earlier times? 16 and let the latter follow them? 17 Thus deal We ever with the guilty. 18 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 19 Did We not create you from a humble fluid, 20 and place it in a secure place 21 For a known calculated term. 22 Thus did We Plan and how excellent is Our planning! 23 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 24 Have We not made the earth a container 25 For the living and the dead among you? 26 And made therein lofty mountains, and given you to drink of sweet water? 27 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 28 “Move towards what you used to deny!” 29 Depart to a triple-massing shadow 30 which neither gives shade nor protects one from the flames. 31 and throwing up sparks as huge as towers 32 "As if there were (a string of) yellow camels (marching swiftly)." 33 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 34 that Day on which they will not [be able to] utter a word, 35 Nor will it be permitted for them to make an excuse. 36 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 37 'This is the Day of Decision; We have joined you with the ancients; 38 If now ye have any wit, outwit Me. 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40
