In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By (the angels) sent forth with the commands of God, 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 By the spreading winds spreading. 3 then winnow them thoroughly, 4 By those who bring down the Reminder, 5 Whether of Justification or of Warning;- 6 Surely what you are promised shall come to pass. 7 So when stars are effaced. 8 And when the heaven is rent asunder, 9 The mountains reduced to dust and blown away, 10 And when the time comes for raising the little girls (buried alive) -- 11 For what Day are these (portents) deferred? 12 Upon the Day of Decision! 13 What will explain to you what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 15 Destroyed We not the ancients? 16 Thereafter We shall cause to follow them the latter ones. 17 thus do We deal with the culprits. 18 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 19 Did We not create you from an abject fluid? 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 For a known extent. 22 We determined; excellent determiners are We. 23 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 24 Have We not made the earth to draw together to itself, 25 for the living and the dead? 26 And have placed therein firm, and tall mountains; and have given you to drink sweet water? 27 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 28 Depart to that you cried was lies! 29 Go on towards the threefold shadow 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 Indeed, it throws sparks [as huge] as a fortress, 32 (Or) as it might be camels of bright yellow hue. 33 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 34 That will be the Day on which they will not (be able to) utter a word, 35 nor will they be allowed to proffer excuses. 36 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 37 This is the Day of Judgement. We have assembled you all together with past generations. 38 So if you have a plan, then plan against Me. 39 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 40

(1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
