In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ Of what do they ask one another? 1 Of the mighty tiding 2 Concerning which they are in disagreement. 3 Indeed they will come to know soon; 4 They will indeed come to know soon. 5 HAVE WE NOT made the earth a resting-place [for you,] 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 And (have We not) created you in pairs, 8 and We have made your sleep [a symbol of] death 9 and We appointed night for a garment, 10 and We appointed day for a livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven firmaments, 12 and have placed [therein the sun,] a lamp full of blazing splendour. 13 And then sent down hard rain from the water bearing clouds. 14 that We may bring forth thereby grain and plants, 15 and luxuriant gardens. 16 Surely a time is fixed for the Day of Judgement. 17 It is a Day whereon the trumpet will be blown, and ye will come in multitudes. 18 The heavens will be opened wide and turn into so many doors, 19 and when the mountains are made to vanish as if they had been a mirage. 20 Truly Hell is as a place of ambush, 21 for the insolent a resort, 22 They will tarry therein for ages. 23 Nothing cool shall they taste therein, nor any drink. 24 except boiling water and pus, 25 as a fitting recompense for their deeds. 26 Indeed, they were not expecting an account 27 and they cried loud lies to Our signs; 28 And We have kept recorded everything in a Book, accounted for. 29 [And so We shall say:] "Taste, then, [the fruit of your evil doings,] for now We shall bestow on you nothing but more and more suffering!" 30
