The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ What are they questioning each other about? 1 About the great news, (i.e. Islamic Monotheism, the Quran, which Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) brought and the Day of Resurrection, etc.), 2 whereon they are at variance. 3 No indeed; they shall soon know! 4 again, no indeed; soon will they come to know. 5 Have We not made the earth an even expanse? 6 And the mountains as projections (thereon)? 7 And We have created you in pairs, 8 And have appointed your sleep for repose, 9 And made the night as a covering, 10 And We made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 and built above you seven strong firmaments, 12 And We have set therein lamps glowing. 13 And have sent down from the rainy clouds abundant water. 14 So that We bring forth thereby corn and vegetation. 15 and thick gardens grow? 16 Surely the Day of Judgement has an appointed time; 17 The day on which the trumpet shall be blown so you shall come forth in hosts, 18 And the heaven will be opened – it therefore becomes like gates. 19 And the mountains shall be moved away from their places and they will be as if they were a mirage. 20 Surely the Hell is an ambush, 21 a resort for the rebellious; 22 They will dwell therein for ages. 23 They shall not taste therein cool nor drink 24 save boiling water and a stinking fluid -- 25 The reward to each is according to what he is. 26 Indeed, they did not hope for a Reckoning, 27 And rejected Our signs as lies. 28 but We have recorded everything in a Book. 29 Taste therefore. We shall not increase you in aught but torment. 30
