The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Of what ask they? 1 Of the mighty tiding 2 Concerning which they differ. 3 Verily, they shall soon (come to) know! 4 again, no indeed; soon will they come to know. 5 Have We not made the earth an even expanse? 6 and fixed the mountains like pegs, 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 And have appointed your sleep for repose, 9 and made the night [its] cloak 10 And We have made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 Have We not made seven strong heavens above you, 12 And have kept a very bright lamp in it. 13 And have sent down from the rainy clouds abundant water. 14 to make the seeds, plants, 15 And gardens of thick growth. 16 Indeed, the Day of Decision is an appointed time, 17 It is a Day whereon the trumpet will be blown, and ye will come in multitudes. 18 The heavens will have openings like doors. 19 And the mountains shall be moved off so that they shall remain a mere semblance. 20 Hell will lie in wait (for its prey). 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 In it shall they remain for a long time. 23 Finding neither sleep nor any thing to drink 24 save boiling water and a stinking fluid -- 25 An appropriate recompense. 26 for they never expected to be called to account, 27 And they belied Our revelations with strong belying. 28 And everything We have recorded in a book. 29 (They will be told), "Suffer, We shall only increase the torment for you". 30

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
