The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ About what are they asking one another? 1 About the great tidings! 2 that they are in utter disagreement? 3 No indeed; they shall soon know! 4 Again, by no means! anon they shall know. 5 Have We not made the earth as a cradle 6 and raised the mountains like supporting poles? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 and We appointed your sleep for a rest; 9 and made the night a covering, 10 And made the day for livelihood 11 And constructed above you seven strong [heavens] 12 And have made (therein) a shinning lamp (sun). 13 And then sent down hard rain from the water bearing clouds. 14 In order to produce grain and plants with it. 15 and gardens dense with follage. 16 Indeed, the Day of Judgement is an appointed time - 17 The Day that the Trumpet shall be sounded, and ye shall come forth in crowds; 18 and the heaven shall be opened, and become gates, 19 The mountains will be driven away and become like mirages. 20 Surely hell lies in wait, 21 For the transgressors, a place of return, 22 In which they will remain for ages [unending]. 23 They will not taste therein [any] coolness or drink 24 But boiling and intensely cold water, 25 as a fitting recompense for their deeds. 26 for they never expected to be called to account, 27 But they belied Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, and that which Our Prophet (Peace be upon him) brought) completely. 28 We have kept account of everything in a book. 29 "So taste [the penalty], and never will We increase you except in torment." 30
