The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ What do they quarrel about? 1 About the great news, (i.e. Islamic Monotheism, the Quran, which Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) brought and the Day of Resurrection, etc.), 2 whereon they are at variance. 3 Nay! they shall soon come to know 4 And once again: Nay, but in time they will come to understand! 5 Have We not made the earth as a wide expanse, 6 And the mountains as projections (thereon)? 7 Have We not created you in pairs, 8 and We appointed your sleep for a rest; 9 The night a covering, 10 And We have made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven firmaments, 12 And have kept a very bright lamp in it. 13 And have sent down from the rainy clouds abundant water, 14 So that We bring forth thereby corn and vegetation. 15 and gardens dense with follage. 16 Verily the Day of Sorting out is a thing appointed, 17 The Day the Horn is blown and you will come forth in multitudes 18 and heaven is opened, having gates, 19 The mountains will be driven away and become like mirages. 20 Truly, Hell is a place of ambush, 21 It will be a place of return 22 They will tarry therein for ages. 23 and where they will taste neither coolness nor any drink 24 Except boiling water, and dirty wound discharges. 25 a fitting requital, 26 Verily they were wont not to look for a reckoning. 27 And rejected Our signs as lies. 28 And all things We have recorded in a Book. 29 So taste (the fruit of your deeds). We shall only increase your torment. 30
