The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Of what ask they? 1 About the great news, (i.e. Islamic Monotheism, the Quran, which Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) brought and the Day of Resurrection, etc.), 2 that they are in utter disagreement? 3 Indeed they will come to know soon; 4 Again surely yes, they will soon come to know! 5 Have We not made the earth as a place to rest 6 And the mountains as projections (thereon)? 7 We created you in pairs, 8 And made your sleep for rest, 9 made the night as a covering, 10 And We made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And built seven strong roofs above you. 12 And have kept a very bright lamp in it. 13 And have sent down from the rainy clouds abundant water. 14 That We may produce from it grain and vegetation, 15 and gardens dense with follage. 16 Surely the Day of Judgement has an appointed time; 17 A day when the trumpet is blown and ye come in multitudes, 18 The heavens will have openings like doors. 19 And the mountains will have been removed away, and they will have become as mirage. 20 Surely the Hell is an ambush, 21 For the transgressors a place of destination: 22 They will dwell therein for ages. 23 they shall taste in it no coolness, nor any pleasant drink 24 save boiling water and pus 25 A fitting recompense (for them). 26 For that they used not to fear any account (for their deeds), 27 And called Our communications a lie, giving the lie (to the truth). 28 And We have kept recorded everything in a Book, accounted for. 29 Taste therefore. We shall not increase you in aught but torment. 30
