The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ What are they questioning each other about? 1 Concerning the Great News, 2 That over which they are in disagreement. 3 Indeed, they shall know! 4 again, no indeed; soon will they come to know. 5 Have We not spread the earth like a bed, 6 and the mountains as pegs? 7 We created you in pairs, 8 and We made your sleep a rest, 9 and made the night [its] cloak 10 and made the day [a symbol of] life. 11 And We have built above you seven strong ones, 12 and We have set therein a glowing lamp. 13 and sent down abundant water from the clouds 14 Thereby to produce grain and plant, 15 And gardens dense and luxuriant. 16 Surely a time is fixed for the Day of Judgement. 17 the Day when the Trumpet shall be blown, and you will come forth in multitudes; 18 And the heaven shall be opened, and it will become as gates, 19 And the mountains shall be moved off so that they shall remain a mere semblance. 20 Truly Hell is as a place of ambush, 21 A place of resort for the inordinate, 22 In which they will remain for ages [unending]. 23 Neither coolness shall they taste therein nor any [thirst-quenching] drink 24 save boiling water and pus 25 for a suitable recompense. 26 For verily, they used not to look for a reckoning. 27 And called Our communications a lie, giving the lie (to the truth). 28 And We have kept recorded everything in a Book, accounted for. 29 'Taste! We shall not increase you except in punishment' 30
