The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ What do they question each other about! 1 About the great event, 2 concerning which they are in disagreement! 3 Surely yes, they will soon come to know! 4 Yes, indeed, before long they will learn all about it. 5 Have We not made the earth as a wide expanse, 6 and the mountains [its] pegs? 7 And (have We not) created you in pairs, 8 And have appointed your sleep for repose, 9 And have appointed the night as a cloak, 10 and We made the day for a livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven strong (heavens), 12 And We made a shining lamp, 13 And have sent down from the rainy clouds abundant water, 14 That We may produce therewith corn and vegetations, 15 And dense gardens. 16 The Day of Judgment will certainly be the final appointment. 17 A day when the trumpet is blown and ye come in multitudes, 18 and the heaven shall be opened, and become gates, 19 and the mountains shall be made to vanish, as if they had been a mirage. 20 Indeed hell is lying in ambush. 21 for the insolent a resort, 22 there, they shall live for ages, 23 tasting therein neither coolness nor any drink 24 Except scalding water and [foul] purulence - 25 An appropriate recompense. 26 They did not expect such a Judgment 27 and persistently rejected Our revelations. 28 And all things We have recorded in a Book. 29 So taste you (the results of your evil actions); no increase shall We give you, except in torment. 30

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
