The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ What are they asking (one another)? 1 About the great news - 2 About which they differ? 3 Nay, but they will come to know! 4 Nay, again, they will come to know! 5 Have We not made the earth a resting place? 6 And the high hills bulwarks? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 And made your sleep [a means for] rest 9 and made the night a covering, 10 and made the day for earning a livelihood. 11 And constructed above you seven strong [heavens] 12 (the sun) as a shining torch 13 And We send down from the clouds water pouring forth abundantly, 14 That We may bring forth thereby corn and herbs, 15 and gardens dense with foliage? 16 Indeed, the Day of Judgement is an appointed time - 17 A day when the trumpet is blown and ye come in multitudes, 18 And the heavens shall be opened as if there were doors, 19 The mountains put in motion turning into a mirage. 20 Truly Hell is as a place of ambush, 21 The rebels' abode, 22 therein to tarry for ages, 23 Nothing cool shall they taste therein, nor any drink. 24 save boiling water and wash of the wounds; 25 a befitting recompense for their deeds. 26 They indeed hoped not for a reckoning, 27 But they (impudently) treated Our Signs as false. 28 And We have kept recorded everything in a Book, accounted for. 29 (They will be told), "Suffer, We shall only increase the torment for you". 30

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
