The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ What are they asking (one another)? 1 About the great news, (i.e. Islamic Monotheism, the Quran, which Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) brought and the Day of Resurrection, etc.), 2 About which they differ? 3 Verily, they shall soon (come to) know! 4 Nay! Nay! they shall soon know. 5 Have We not made the earth as a cradle 6 And the high hills bulwarks? 7 And We have created you in pairs; 8 And made your sleep for rest, 9 And We have made the night a covering. 10 and the day as time for you to make a living? 11 Have We not made seven strong heavens above you, 12 (the sun) as a shining torch 13 From the rain clouds We send waters pouring down in abundance, 14 That We may bring forth thereby grain and vegetation 15 And gardens of luxurious growth? 16 Lo! the Day of Decision is a fixed time, 17 the day the Trumpet is blown, and you shall come in troops, 18 and when the sky shall be opened up and will become all doors; 19 And the mountains shall be moved away from their places and they will be as if they were a mirage. 20 Indeed, Gehenna (Hell) has become an ambush, 21 for the insolent a resort, 22 They will abide therein for ages, 23 they shall taste in it no coolness, nor any pleasant drink 24 save boiling water and pus 25 Reward proportioned (to their evil deeds). 26 For that they used not to fear any account (for their deeds), 27 and they rejected outright Our signs; 28 And everything have We recorded in a Book. 29 'Taste! We shall increase you not save in chastisement.' 30

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
