The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ What are they asking each other about? 1 About the awesome tiding [of resurrection,] 2 Regarding which they hold different views. 3 Indeed they will come to know soon; 4 again, no indeed; soon will they come to know. 5 Have We not made the earth an even expanse? 6 And the mountains as projections (thereon)? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 And made your sleep a rest. 9 And made the night a cover. 10 And made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 We raised over you several secure (skies), 12 And have appointed a dazzling lamp, 13 And then sent down hard rain from the water bearing clouds. 14 that We may bring forth with it grain, plants 15 And gardens dense and luxuriant. 16 Indeed, the Day of Judgement is an appointed time - 17 The day when the Trumpet will be blown – you will therefore come forth in multitudes. 18 and the heaven shall be opened, and become gates, 19 and the mountains shall be made to vanish, as if they had been a mirage. 20 Verily the Hell is an ambuscade: 21 For the transgressors, a place of return, 22 Living therein for ages. 23 Neither coolness shall they taste therein nor any [thirst-quenching] drink 24 except boiling water and pus, 25 A fitting recompense (for them). 26 for they never expected to be called to account, 27 And rejected Our signs as lies. 28 And We have recorded everything in a book, 29 So taste (the fruit of what you sowed), for We shall add nothing but torment, 30
