The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Of what do they ask one another? 1 About the great news, (i.e. Islamic Monotheism, the Quran, which Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) brought and the Day of Resurrection, etc.), 2 whereupon they are at variance? 3 No indeed; soon will they come to know; 4 Again, no indeed; they shall soon know! 5 Have We not made the earth as a place to rest 6 and the mountains as pegs? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 And have made your sleep as a thing for rest. 9 And made the night a cover. 10 And We have made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And (have We not) built over you the seven firmaments, 12 And We have set therein lamps glowing. 13 And have sent down from the rainy clouds abundant water, 14 Thereby to produce grain and plant, 15 And dense gardens. 16 Surely a time is fixed for the Day of Judgement. 17 the Day when the Trumpet shall be blown, and you will come forth in multitudes; 18 and the heaven shall be opened, and become gates, 19 And the mountains will be moved – they will therefore become like mirages. 20 Truly Hell is as a place of ambush, 21 For the transgressors a place of destination: 22 where they shall remain for ages, 23 Finding neither sleep nor any thing to drink 24 Except hot boiling water and hot pus discharged from the people of hell. 25 Reward proportioned (to their evil deeds). 26 For verily, they used not to look for a reckoning. 27 and they absolutely belied Our verses, 28 And all things We have recorded in a Book. 29 Taste therefore. We shall not increase you in aught but torment. 30
