The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Concerning what are they disputing? 1 (Is it) of the great announcement 2 concerning which they are in disagreement! 3 No! They are going to know. 4 Surely, they will soon find out the truth! 5 Have We not spread the earth like a bed, 6 and raised the mountains like supporting poles? 7 And it is We who created you in pairs. 8 made sleep for you to rest, 9 And made the night as clothing 10 And made the day for livelihood 11 And We have built above you seven strong (heavens), 12 And have kept a very bright lamp in it. 13 From the rain clouds We send waters pouring down in abundance, 14 In order to produce grain and plants with it. 15 And gardens of entwined growth. 16 VERILY, the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false] has indeed its appointed time: 17 The Day the Horn is blown and you will come forth in multitudes 18 And the heaven is opened and becometh as gates, 19 And the mountains will be moved – they will therefore become like mirages. 20 Truly, Hell is a place of ambush, 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 Living therein for ages. 23 They shall not taste therein cool nor drink 24 Except boiling water, and dirty wound discharges. 25 The reward to each is according to what he is. 26 They were those who did not expect a reckoning, 27 and they cried loud lies to Our signs; 28 And everything have We recorded in a Book. 29 [So We shall say], "Taste, then, [the fruit of your evil doings,] for now We shall bestow on you nothing but more and more suffering!" 30
