The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Of what ask they? 1 Concerning the Great News, 2 About which they are in disagreement. 3 No indeed; soon will they come to know; 4 Again surely yes, they will soon come to know! 5 Have We not made the earth an even expanse? 6 And the mountains as stakes? 7 And We created you in pairs 8 And made sleep for you to rest, 9 made the night as a covering, 10 and We appointed day for a livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven strong ones, 12 and placed in them a blazing lamp 13 and sent down abundant water from the clouds 14 So that We bring forth thereby corn and vegetation. 15 And gardens of luxurious growth? 16 Surely, the Day of Judgement has an appointed time. 17 On that day the trumpet will be sounded and you will come (to Us) in huge groups. 18 And the heaven is opened and becometh as gates, 19 And the mountains will have been removed away, and they will have become as mirage. 20 Hell will lie in wait (for its prey). 21 for the insolent a resort, 22 In it shall they remain for a long time. 23 Finding neither sleep nor any thing to drink 24 except boiling water and pus 25 The reward to each is according to what he is. 26 They did not expect such a Judgment 27 And denied Our verses with [emphatic] denial. 28 And all things have We preserved on record. 29 Taste therefore. We shall not increase you in aught but torment. 30
