The News (Al-Naba')
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Of what ask they? 1 About the great news, (i.e. Islamic Monotheism, the Quran, which Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) brought and the Day of Resurrection, etc.), 2 whereupon they are at variance? 3 No indeed; they shall soon know! 4 Surely, they will soon find out the truth! 5 Did We not make the earth a spreading, 6 and raised the mountains like supporting poles? 7 And it is We who created you in pairs. 8 And made sleep for you to rest, 9 And made the night as clothing 10 And made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven strong (heavens), 12 And have appointed a dazzling lamp, 13 and have sent down out of the rainclouds water cascading 14 In order to produce grain and plants with it. 15 and gardens dense with foliage. 16 VERILY, the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false] has indeed its appointed time: 17 The day on which the trumpet shall be blown so you shall come forth in hosts, 18 and heaven is opened, having gates, 19 and when the mountains are made to vanish as if they had been a mirage. 20 Surely hell lies in wait, 21 a resort for the rebellious; 22 therein to tarry for ages, 23 They will neither taste anything cool in it, nor anything to drink. 24 Save scalding water and corruption. 25 as a fitting recompense for their deeds. 26 For lo! they looked not for a reckoning; 27 and persistently rejected Our revelations. 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 Therefore taste it now – We shall not increase anything for you except the punishment. 30
