The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Of what do they question one another? 1 Of the mighty tiding 2 That over which they are in disagreement. 3 No indeed; soon will they come to know; 4 Yes, indeed, before long they will learn all about it. 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse, 6 And the mountains as stakes? 7 Have We not created you in pairs, 8 And have made your sleep as a thing for rest. 9 And have appointed the night as a cloak, 10 and made the day to seek livelihood, 11 We raised over you several secure (skies), 12 And placed a lamp therein brightly burning. 13 And from the wind-driven clouds We send down waters pouring in abundance, 14 That We may bring forth thereby grain and vegetation 15 and gardens luxuriant. 16 Indeed, the Day of Judgement is an appointed time - 17 The day on which the trumpet shall be blown so you shall come forth in hosts, 18 And the heaven will have been opened, and it will have become doors. 19 and the mountains move, and vaporize. 20 Surely, Hell lies in wait, 21 for the insolent a resort, 22 Where they will remain for aeons, 23 Nothing cool shall they taste therein, nor any drink, 24 Except boiling water, and dirty wound discharges. 25 The reward to each is according to what he is. 26 Indeed, they did not hope for a Reckoning, 27 And rejected Our signs as lies. 28 And everything have We recorded in a Book. 29 'Taste! We shall not increase you except in punishment' 30
