The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Concerning what are they disputing? 1 About the great news, (i.e. Islamic Monotheism, the Quran, which Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) brought and the Day of Resurrection, etc.), 2 About which they are in disagreement. 3 Nay, but in time they will come to understand [it]! 4 Again, by no means! anon they shall know. 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse. 6 And the mountains as stakes? 7 And We have created you in pairs. 8 And have appointed your sleep for repose, 9 And We have made the night a covering. 10 And made the day for livelihood 11 And constructed above you seven strong [heavens] 12 and have placed [therein the sun,] a lamp full of blazing splendour. 13 And from the wind-driven clouds We send down waters pouring in abundance, 14 so that We might bring forth thereby grain, and herbs, 15 And gardens thick with trees. 16 Surely the Day of Decision is an appointed time, 17 The Day when the Trumpet will be blown, and you shall come forth in crowds (groups); 18 and heaven is opened, and become gates, 19 and the mountains are set in motion, and become a vapour. 20 Behold, Gehenna has become an ambush, 21 The rebels' abode, 22 where they shall remain for ages, 23 They will neither taste anything cool in it, nor anything to drink. 24 except boiling water and pus 25 a befitting recompense for their deeds. 26 For verily, they used not to look for a reckoning. 27 They called Our revelations false with strong denial. 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 'Taste! We shall increase you not save in chastisement.' 30
