The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ What are they questioning each other about? 1 About the great news, (i.e. Islamic Monotheism, the Quran, which Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) brought and the Day of Resurrection, etc.), 2 Regarding which they hold different views. 3 Indeed, they shall know! 4 Surely, they will soon find out the truth! 5 Have We not made the earth as a place to rest 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 We created you in pairs, 8 And We have made your sleep as a rest. 9 And made the night as clothing 10 and made the day for earning a livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven firmaments, 12 And We have set therein lamps glowing. 13 And We sent down rain from water-laden clouds pouring in torrents 14 to make the seeds, plants, 15 And gardens of luxurious growth? 16 Surely the Day of Judgement has an appointed time; 17 the day the Trumpet is blown, and you shall come in troops, 18 The heavens will be opened wide and turn into so many doors, 19 and the mountains shall be made to vanish, as if they had been a mirage. 20 Verily the Hell is an ambuscade: 21 The rebels' abode, 22 therein they shall abide for ages, 23 Therein taste they neither coolness nor (any) drink 24 Save a boiling fluid and a fluid, dark, murky, intensely cold, 25 An exact recompense (according to their evil crimes). 26 For verily, they used not to look for a reckoning. 27 and they absolutely belied Our verses, 28 And everything We have recorded in a book. 29 So taste (of that which ye have earned). No increase do We give you save of torment. 30
