The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Of what ask they? 1 They quarrel about the great news 2 concerning which they have disputes. 3 Nay, but they will come to know! 4 again, no indeed; soon will they come to know. 5 Have We not made the earth a resting place? 6 And the mountains as projections (thereon)? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 and We have made your sleep [a symbol of] death 9 And made the night as clothing 10 And We have made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And We have builded over you seven strong heavens. 12 (the sun) as a shining torch 13 And do We not send down from the clouds water in abundance, 14 that We may bring forth with it grain, plants 15 And gardens of thick growth. 16 Surely the Day of Judgement has an appointed time; 17 The Day when the Trumpet will be blown, and you shall come forth in crowds (groups); 18 And the heaven shall be opened so that it shall be all openings, 19 and the mountains will be set in motion and become a mirage. 20 [On that Day,] verily, hell will lie in wait [for those who deny the truth] 21 a goal for all who are wont to transgress the bounds of what is right! 22 They will tarry therein for ages. 23 they shall taste in it no coolness, nor any pleasant drink 24 Except boiling water, and dirty wound discharges. 25 Reward proportioned (to their evil deeds). 26 For that they used not to fear any account (for their deeds), 27 and roundly denied Our Signs as false. 28 And We have recorded everything in a book, 29 Taste therefore. We shall not increase you in aught but torment. 30

كيف تعمل منظومة تمارين الحفظ؟ عند أدنى مستوى 0، تكون كل الكلمات ظاهرة. بينما يُخفي أعلى مستوى 9 كل الكلمات. فكيف تعمل المستويات المتوسطة، مثل 3، على سبيل المثال؟ قد تعتقد بأن المنظومة تخفي 3 من كل تسع كلمات بدقة. ليس تماما! في المستوى 3، لكل كلمة فرصة اختفاء بنسبة 3 من 9، و6 من 9 لتكون ظاهرة. بمعنى آخر، من الممكن، ولكن باحتمال شبة معدوم، أن تكون جميع كلمات المستوى 3 مخفية، أو أن تكون جميعها ظاهرة! وكذلك أيضًا، ففي المستويات المتوسطة، وبما يتناسب مع مستوى الصعوبة، يمكن أن تكون المخابئ غير كاملة أو شفافة جزئيًا بحيث تظهر الكلمات جزئيًا تحتها.
How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
