The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ About what are they asking one another? 1 (Is it) of the great announcement 2 About which they have been differing? 3 Nay, but they will come to know! 4 Verily, verily they shall soon (come to) know! 5 Have We not made the earth an even expanse? 6 And the mountains as stakes? 7 And We have created you in pairs (male and female, tall and short, good and bad, etc.). 8 and We have made your sleep [a symbol of] death 9 And made the night a cover. 10 and the day as time for you to make a living? 11 We raised over you several secure (skies), 12 and We have set therein a glowing lamp. 13 From the rain clouds We send waters pouring down in abundance, 14 that We may bring forth with it grain, plants 15 And gardens of entwined growth. 16 Verily the Day of Decision is a time appointed. 17 The Day when the Trumpet will be blown, and you shall come forth in crowds (groups); 18 and the heaven shall be opened, and become gates, 19 The mountains put in motion turning into a mirage. 20 Surely, Hell lies in wait, 21 For the transgressors a place of destination: 22 They will remain in it for ages. 23 tasting neither coolness nor any drink 24 But boiling and intensely cold water, 25 A fitting recompense (for them). 26 They did not expect such a Judgment 27 And they denied Our signs to the extreme. 28 And all things have We preserved on record. 29 Taste therefore. We shall not increase you in aught but torment. 30
