The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Of what do they ask one another? 1 About the great news - 2 About which they have been differing? 3 Nay, but they will come to know! 4 Surely, they will soon find out the truth! 5 Did We not make the earth a bed? 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 And We have created you in pairs. 8 and We appointed your sleep for a rest; 9 And made the night as clothing 10 And made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And (have We not) built over you the seven firmaments, 12 and We appointed a blazing lamp 13 From the rain clouds We send waters pouring down in abundance, 14 That We may bring forth thereby grain and vegetation 15 And gardens of luxurious growth? 16 VERILY, the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false] has indeed its appointed time: 17 On that day the trumpet will be sounded and you will come (to Us) in huge groups. 18 and heaven is opened, having gates, 19 And the mountains shall be moved away from their places and they will be as if they were a mirage. 20 Verily the Hell is an ambuscade: 21 a return for the insolent, 22 They will abide therein for ages, 23 They will not feel cold nor taste any drink 24 Except boiling water, and dirty wound discharges. 25 An appropriate recompense. 26 Surely they feared not the account, 27 And called Our communications a lie, giving the lie (to the truth). 28 We have kept account of everything in a book. 29 So taste (of that which ye have earned). No increase do We give you save of torment. 30
