The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ What are they questioning each other about? 1 About the great tidings! 2 concerning which they are in disagreement! 3 Indeed they will come to know soon; 4 Yes, indeed, before long they will learn all about it. 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse, 6 and raised the mountains like supporting poles? 7 And We have created you in pairs. 8 and We made your sleep a rest, 9 The night a covering, 10 And made the day for livelihood 11 And We have built above you seven strong (heavens), 12 and placed in them a blazing lamp 13 and sent down heavy rains from the clouds 14 that We may bring forth thereby grain and plants, 15 and gardens dense with foliage. 16 VERILY, the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false] has indeed its appointed time: 17 the Day when the trumpet [of resurrection] is sounded and you all come forward in multitudes; 18 and the heaven shall be opened, and become gates, 19 And the hills are set in motion and become as a mirage. 20 Behold, Gehenna has become an ambush, 21 The rebels' abode, 22 there, they shall live for ages, 23 Therein taste they neither coolness nor (any) drink 24 Except boiling water, and dirty wound discharges. 25 a fitting requital, 26 For indeed they did not look forward to any reckoning, 27 They called Our revelations false with strong denial. 28 but We have placed on record every single thing [of what they did]. 29 "So taste ye (the fruits of your deeds); for no increase shall We grant you, except in Punishment." 30

كيف تعمل منظومة تمارين الحفظ؟ عند أدنى مستوى 0، تكون كل الكلمات ظاهرة. بينما يُخفي أعلى مستوى 9 كل الكلمات. فكيف تعمل المستويات المتوسطة، مثل 3، على سبيل المثال؟ قد تعتقد بأن المنظومة تخفي 3 من كل تسع كلمات بدقة. ليس تماما! في المستوى 3، لكل كلمة فرصة اختفاء بنسبة 3 من 9، و6 من 9 لتكون ظاهرة. بمعنى آخر، من الممكن، ولكن باحتمال شبة معدوم، أن تكون جميع كلمات المستوى 3 مخفية، أو أن تكون جميعها ظاهرة! وكذلك أيضًا، ففي المستويات المتوسطة، وبما يتناسب مع مستوى الصعوبة، يمكن أن تكون المخابئ غير كاملة أو شفافة جزئيًا بحيث تظهر الكلمات جزئيًا تحتها.
How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
