The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Concerning what are they disputing? 1 Of the mighty tiding 2 whereupon they are at variance? 3 Surely yes, they will soon come to know! 4 Again, no indeed; they shall soon know! 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse. 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 Have We not created you in pairs, 8 and We made your sleep a rest, 9 And have appointed the night as a cloak, 10 and We made the day for a livelihood. 11 We raised over you several secure (skies), 12 And made [therein] a burning lamp 13 And from the wind-driven clouds We send down waters pouring in abundance, 14 That We may produce therewith corn and vegetations, 15 And dense gardens. 16 Indeed, the Day of Judgement is an appointed time - 17 The Day when the Trumpet will be blown, and you shall come forth in crowds (groups); 18 The heavens will have openings like doors. 19 and the mountains move, and vaporize. 20 Behold, Gehenna has become an ambush, 21 For the exorbitant a receptacle. 22 In which they will remain for ages [unending]. 23 tasting neither coolness nor any drink 24 Except hot boiling water and hot pus discharged from the people of hell. 25 as a fitting recompense for their deeds. 26 For lo! they looked not for a reckoning; 27 and they absolutely belied Our verses, 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 "So taste ye (the fruits of your deeds); for no increase shall We grant you, except in Punishment." 30
