The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ About what are they asking one another? 1 About the awesome tiding [of resurrection,] 2 concerning which they have disputes. 3 No indeed; soon will they come to know; 4 Again, by no means! anon they shall know. 5 Have We not made the earth an even expanse? 6 And the high hills bulwarks? 7 And We created you in pairs 8 and made your sleep a means of repose, 9 and We made the night a mantle, 10 And have made the day for livelihood. 11 Have We not made seven strong heavens above you, 12 And placed (therein) a Light of Splendour? 13 And have sent down from the rainy clouds abundant water, 14 That We may bring forth thereby grain and vegetation 15 and gardens luxuriant. 16 Surely, the Day of Judgement has an appointed time. 17 It is a Day whereon the trumpet will be blown, and ye will come in multitudes. 18 and when the sky shall be opened up and will become all doors; 19 and the mountains are set in motion, and become a vapour. 20 Behold, Gehenna has become an ambush, 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 In which they will remain for ages [unending]. 23 They will not taste therein cool or any drink. 24 Except boiling water and benumbing cold: 25 An appropriate recompense. 26 They were those who did not expect a reckoning, 27 And they denied Our signs to the extreme. 28 but We have recorded everything in a Book. 29 "So taste ye (the fruits of your deeds); for no increase shall We grant you, except in Punishment." 30

كيف تعمل منظومة تمارين الحفظ؟ عند أدنى مستوى 0، تكون كل الكلمات ظاهرة. بينما يُخفي أعلى مستوى 9 كل الكلمات. فكيف تعمل المستويات المتوسطة، مثل 3، على سبيل المثال؟ قد تعتقد بأن المنظومة تخفي 3 من كل تسع كلمات بدقة. ليس تماما! في المستوى 3، لكل كلمة فرصة اختفاء بنسبة 3 من 9، و6 من 9 لتكون ظاهرة. بمعنى آخر، من الممكن، ولكن باحتمال شبة معدوم، أن تكون جميع كلمات المستوى 3 مخفية، أو أن تكون جميعها ظاهرة! وكذلك أيضًا، ففي المستويات المتوسطة، وبما يتناسب مع مستوى الصعوبة، يمكن أن تكون المخابئ غير كاملة أو شفافة جزئيًا بحيث تظهر الكلمات جزئيًا تحتها.
How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
