The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ What do they question each other about! 1 About the Great News 2 About which they are in disagreement. 3 Nay, but in time they will come to understand [it]! 4 Nay, again, but they will come to know! 5 Have We not made the earth as a cradle 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 And We have created you in pairs (male and female, tall and short, good and bad, etc.). 8 made sleep for you to rest, 9 And We have made the night a covering. 10 and made the day to seek livelihood, 11 And We have built above you seven firmaments, 12 And have appointed a dazzling lamp, 13 And We have sent down from the rain-clouds water plenteous. 14 Thereby to produce grain and plant, 15 and luxuriant gardens. 16 Surely the day of decision is (a day) appointed: 17 The Day the Horn is blown and you will come forth in multitudes 18 The heavens will be opened wide and turn into so many doors, 19 and the mountains shall be made to vanish, as if they had been a mirage. 20 Surely, Hell lies in wait, 21 a resort for the rebellious; 22 They will abide therein for ages, 23 and where they will taste neither coolness nor any drink 24 save boiling water and pus 25 a befitting recompense for their deeds. 26 Indeed they had no fear of the account. 27 And denied Our verses with [emphatic] denial. 28 And everything We have recorded in a book. 29 "So taste [the penalty], and never will We increase you except in torment." 30

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
