The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Of what ask they? 1 About the great news - 2 concerning which they have disputes. 3 By no means! anon they shall know. 4 Nay, again, but they will come to know! 5 Did We not make the earth a spreading, 6 The mountains tent-pins? 7 And We have created you in pairs, 8 And made your sleep [a means for] rest 9 And made the night a cover. 10 and made the day for earning a livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven strong ones, 12 (the sun) as a shining torch 13 and sent down abundant water from the clouds 14 So that We bring forth thereby corn and vegetation. 15 and luxuriant gardens. 16 Verily, the Day of Decision is a fixed time, 17 The day on which the trumpet shall be blown so you shall come forth in hosts, 18 And the heaven will have been opened, and it will have become doors. 19 and the mountains move, and vaporize. 20 Truly, Hell is a place of ambush, 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 They will remain in it for ages. 23 They will neither taste anything cool in it, nor anything to drink. 24 except boiling water and pus 25 An appropriate recompense. 26 For lo! they looked not for a reckoning; 27 And they belied Our revelations with strong belying. 28 And everything have We recorded in a Book. 29 So taste (the fruit of what you sowed), for We shall add nothing but torment, 30
