The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ What do they quarrel about? 1 Is it about the awesome tiding 2 About which they differ? 3 Nay, they will come to know! 4 Surely, they will soon find out the truth! 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse, 6 and the mountains [its] pegs? 7 We created you in pairs, 8 and We made your sleep a rest, 9 and We appointed night for a garment, 10 And have made the day for livelihood. 11 We have built above you seven mighty heavens, 12 and We have set therein a glowing lamp. 13 And then sent down hard rain from the water bearing clouds. 14 That We may produce therewith corn and vegetables, 15 And dense gardens. 16 The Day of Judgment will certainly be the final appointment. 17 the Day when the Trumpet shall be blown, and you will come forth in multitudes; 18 The heavens will have openings like doors. 19 The mountains put in motion turning into a mirage. 20 Certainly Hell lies in wait, 21 for the insolent a resort, 22 They will tarry therein for ages. 23 They will not feel cold nor taste any drink 24 Save scalding water and corruption. 25 , A fitting reward. 26 Surely they feared not the account, 27 And they denied Our signs to the extreme. 28 But all things We have enumerated in writing. 29 [So We shall say], "Taste, then, [the fruit of your evil doings,] for now We shall bestow on you nothing but more and more suffering!" 30
