The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ What are they asking each other about? 1 Is it about the awesome tiding 2 whereon they are at variance. 3 Indeed they will come to know soon; 4 Nay, again, they will come to know! 5 Did We not make the earth a spreading, 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 And (have We not) created you in pairs, 8 And We made your sleep to be rest (to you), 9 and We appointed night for a garment, 10 And have made the day for livelihood. 11 And We have builded over you seven strong heavens. 12 and placed in them a blazing lamp 13 And sent down, from the rain clouds, pouring water 14 In order to produce grain and plants with it. 15 And gardens of entwined growth. 16 Surely the Day of Judgement has an appointed time; 17 the Day when the trumpet [of resurrection] is sounded and you all come forward in multitudes; 18 and the heaven shall be opened, and become gates, 19 The mountains put in motion turning into a mirage. 20 Truly Hell is as a place of ambush, 21 A home for the rebellious. 22 They will dwell therein for ages. 23 They will not taste therein cool or any drink. 24 But boiling and intensely cold water, 25 An exact recompense (according to their evil crimes). 26 For verily, they used not to look for a reckoning. 27 And called Our communications a lie, giving the lie (to the truth). 28 And We have kept recorded everything in a Book, accounted for. 29 (They will be told), "Suffer, We shall only increase the torment for you". 30
