The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ Concerning what are they disputing? 1 About the great event, 2 That over which they are in disagreement. 3 No indeed; they shall soon know! 4 Nay! Nay! they shall soon know. 5 Have We not made the earth as a cradle 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 And made sleep for you to rest, 9 And We have made the night a covering. 10 And made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 and built above you seven strong firmaments, 12 And We have set therein lamps glowing. 13 and sent down abundant water from the clouds 14 that We may bring forth with it grain, plants 15 And gardens of thick growth. 16 Indeed, the Day of Judgement is an appointed time - 17 The Day when the Trumpet will be blown, and you shall come forth in crowds (groups); 18 And the heaven will be opened it therefore becomes like gates. 19 The mountains put in motion turning into a mirage. 20 Truly Hell is as a place of ambush, 21 A place of resort for the inordinate, 22 In which they will remain for ages [unending]. 23 and where they will taste neither coolness nor any drink 24 Save scalding water and corruption. 25 a befitting recompense for their deeds. 26 Indeed they had no fear of the account. 27 But they belied Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, and that which Our Prophet (Peace be upon him) brought) completely. 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 [And so We shall say:] "Taste, then, [the fruit of your evil doings,] for now We shall bestow on you nothing but more and more suffering!" 30

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
