The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ What are they questioning each other about? 1 About the great news - 2 on which they [so utterly] disagree. 3 Verily, they shall soon (come to) know! 4 Again, indeed, they shall know! 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse, 6 and fixed the mountains like pegs, 7 And We have created you in pairs. 8 And have made your sleep as a thing for rest. 9 and made the night [its] cloak 10 And made the day for livelihood 11 And constructed above you seven strong [heavens] 12 And placed (therein) a Light of Splendour? 13 And have sent down from the rainy clouds abundant water, 14 so that We may thereby bring forth grain and vegetation, 15 and gardens dense with foliage? 16 Verily, the Day of Decision is a fixed time, 17 The Day the Horn is blown and you will come forth in multitudes 18 And the heaven is opened and will become gateways 19 and the mountains are set in motion, and become a vapour. 20 Surely the Hell is an ambush, 21 It will be a place of return 22 where they shall remain for ages, 23 Therein taste they neither coolness nor (any) drink 24 except boiling water and pus 25 The reward to each is according to what he is. 26 Surely they feared not the account, 27 And denied Our verses with [emphatic] denial. 28 And We have kept recorded everything in a Book, accounted for. 29 "So taste ye (the fruits of your deeds); for no increase shall We grant you, except in Punishment." 30
