The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ About what are they asking one another? 1 About the great tidings! 2 Regarding which they hold different views. 3 Nay! they shall soon come to know 4 Again, no indeed; they shall soon know! 5 Have We not made the earth as a cradle 6 and the mountains as pegs? 7 And We have created you in pairs. 8 and We appointed your sleep for a rest; 9 And have appointed the night as a cloak, 10 and made the day [a symbol of] life. 11 and built above you seven strong firmaments, 12 And have made (therein) a shinning lamp (sun). 13 And We have sent down from the rain-clouds water plenteous. 14 That We may produce therewith corn and vegetations, 15 And gardens of entwined growth. 16 Surely the day of decision is (a day) appointed: 17 the Day when the trumpet [of resurrection] is sounded and you all come forward in multitudes; 18 And the heaven shall be opened so that it shall be all openings, 19 and the mountains are set in motion, and become a vapour. 20 Surely hell lies in wait, 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 They will abide therein for ages, 23 they shall taste in it no coolness, nor any pleasant drink 24 save boiling water and a stinking fluid -- 25 a fitting requital, 26 Surely they feared not the account, 27 and they cried loud lies to Our signs; 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 So taste (the fruit of your deeds). We shall only increase your torment. 30

كيف تعمل منظومة تمارين الحفظ؟ عند أدنى مستوى 0، تكون كل الكلمات ظاهرة. بينما يُخفي أعلى مستوى 9 كل الكلمات. فكيف تعمل المستويات المتوسطة، مثل 3، على سبيل المثال؟ قد تعتقد بأن المنظومة تخفي 3 من كل تسع كلمات بدقة. ليس تماما! في المستوى 3، لكل كلمة فرصة اختفاء بنسبة 3 من 9، و6 من 9 لتكون ظاهرة. بمعنى آخر، من الممكن، ولكن باحتمال شبة معدوم، أن تكون جميع كلمات المستوى 3 مخفية، أو أن تكون جميعها ظاهرة! وكذلك أيضًا، ففي المستويات المتوسطة، وبما يتناسب مع مستوى الصعوبة، يمكن أن تكون المخابئ غير كاملة أو شفافة جزئيًا بحيث تظهر الكلمات جزئيًا تحتها.
How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
